Edge Browser Support in Preview Mode Available

Description
• With Creo Parametric 12.4.0.0,, users can now switch the embedded browser from Chromium to Microsoft Edge.
• Microsoft Edge will initially be offered as a ‘Public Preview’ for the embedded browser allowing users to test and use it in production environments and scenarios, and provide feedback to PTC.
• Users will be able to control the embedded browser through a new configuration option windows_browser_type which has values of edge_browser and chromium_browser. Chromium is the default browser.
• The production support for Edge browser will be offered in a future maintenance release of Creo 12.

Chromium will continue as the default embedded browser for Creo 12.

• When the embedded browser is to set to Edge, Creo and the Windchill Workgroup Manager will leverage the standard Edge browser installed on the local machine
• Microsoft releases regular security patches and automatically updates the local Edge browser to address known or discovered vulnerabilities. This enables the highest security protection for the embedded browser in Creo.
