To Change the Weld Sequence
The weld sequence is the order in which a weld will be manufactured. The Weld Sequence ID information is exported into the Custom Attributes tag in the xMCF XML file.
Currently, resequencing of connections is available only for spot welds. The weld sequence of spot weld instances can be changed within a Spot Weld feature.
The Weld Sequence ID can be viewed and changed using the Sequencing View. This is a view in the Weld and Joint Tree that displays only the connections of the selected feature. When you change the Weld Sequence ID of an individual connection, it changes the sequence in which the weld is manufactured.
When you are not using the Sequencing View, you can view the Weld Sequence ID of a spot weld instance by placing your pointer over it in the graphics window. A tooltip appears that contains information about the spot weld instance. This includes the Connection ID, which is the same as the Weld Sequence ID.
You can change the sequence without altering the model design. When you change the Weld Sequence ID of a weld, the Feature ID remains the same. When you change the order of the features in the Model Tree, the sequence IDs of the connections do not change.
To change the weld sequence
1. In the Weld and Joint Tree, select a Spot Weld feature.
2. Click Sequencing View. The Connections view appears, displaying the spot weld instance contained in the selected spot weld feature.
3. To change the weld sequence of a spot weld instance, do one of these things:
Drag the spot weld instance up or down the tree to the desired position.
Next to the spot weld instance, type a new sequence value under Weld Sequence ID.
The Weld Sequence ID is updated.
