Branch Tape
The Branch Tape cosmetic component represents areas where tape is applied at the branches or junctions of a harness. This component allows you to wrap tape across multiple branches, offering control over placement and coverage.
To Create a Branch Tape
To create a branch tape, do the following:
1. Click Branch Tape from the Cosmetics ribbon group.
2. Select one or more locations to place the branch tape on the cable in the graphics window. All selected branches must have the same number of sub-branches to apply the tape uniformly.
3. Click to select an existing tape spool on which to base the new tape feature or click to create a new tape spool. Modify the spool parameter values from the Electrical Parameters dialog box if needed. For more information, refer To Edit Spool Parameters.
4. In the Length box, enter the tape length to be applied to each branch. This value represents the length of cable that the tape will cover.
5. In the Branches tab, use the Branches Length box to apply a uniform tape length to all branches. To apply non-uniform lengths, modify individual entries. Clear the check boxes next to the branches that you want to exclude from the feature, if required. When you exclude a branch, the branch becomes unavailable for modification.
6. In the Overlap Factor box, enter a percentage to control how much the tape profile overlaps itself as it follows a helical path.
7. Click OK. A Branch Tape is created.

Use the Cabling Cosmetics Display Filters option from the in‑graphics toolbar to show or hide labels for branch tapes.
To edit or update a branch tape, select the tape from the model tree or from the graphic window and use the Edit Definition command from the right-click menu.
