Tape
The Tape cosmetic component, also known as a spot tape, visually represents where wires are secured or bundled together with tape. Unlike Tape Sheathing, which wraps around entire segments, spot tapes are applied at specific locations.
Tape components are created using the Tape command in the Cosmetics ribbon group. Parameters for each tape are defined through the associated spool.
To Create a Tape
To create a tape, do the following:
1. Click Tape in the Cosmetics ribbon group. The Tape tab opens.
2. Select a location to place the tape on the cable. You can also select multiple locations to place tapes and create a pattern group.
3. Click to select an existing tape spool on which to base the new tape feature or click to create a new tape spool. Modify the spool parameter values from the Electrical Parameters dialog box if needed. For more information, refer To Edit Spool Parameters.
4. Spool Width is a spool-level parameter that defines the physical width of the tape. Edit spool parameters from the Electrical Parameters dialog box to edit the value of Spool Width.
5. Enter the value for Number of winds which determines the number of times the tape is to wind around the cable. The default is 2.
6. Click OK. A Tape is created.

Use the Cabling Cosmetics Display Filters option from the in‑graphics toolbar to show or hide labels for tapes.
Patterned tapes form a Pattern group; deleting or suppressing one instance affects the entire group. You can modify individual instances as well. To do so, right-click the instance, select Modify Cosmetics, and adjust the desired values. To reset the instance back to match the pattern group, use the Remove Varied Item command from the right-click menu.
To edit or update a tape, select the tape from the model tree or from the graphic window and use the Edit Definition command from the right-click menu.
