To Create a Harness Assembly
Creating a Harness Assembly from a New Creo Session
1. In a new Creo session, click > . The New dialog box opens.
2. Select Assembly as the Type and Harness as the Sub-type.
3. Enter the file name and common name.
4. Set the template option in one of the following ways:
◦ To use the default template, click OK.
 | Use the template_harnessassem configuration option to specify the default template. |
◦ OR
To use a custom template, follow these steps:
a. Clear the Use default template checkbox and click OK. The New File Options dialog box opens.
b. Browse to the required template.
c. Click OK.
Creating a Harness Assembly within an Existing Assembly
1. In an open assembly, click 
. The Create Component dialog box opens.
. The Create Component dialog box opens.2. Select Subassembly as the Type and Harness as the Sub-type.
3. Enter the file name and common name. Click OK. The Creation Options dialog box opens.
4. Select an option from the Creation Method list and click OK.
Creating a Harness Assembly Using the Cabling Application
1. In the Cabling application, click 
Create Harness in the Harness group. The Create Component dialog box opens.
Create Harness in the Harness group. The Create Component dialog box opens.By default, the Type is Subassembly and Sub-type is Harness.
2. Enter the file name and common names. Click OK. The Creation Options dialog box opens.
3. Select an option from the Creation Method list and click OK.
To Create a Harness Part (Legacy)
1. In the Cabling application, click Create Harness in the Harness group. The Create Component dialog box opens.
Create Harness in the Harness group. The Create Component dialog box opens.Select the Type as Part and Sub-type as Harness (Legacy).

2. Type a name for the new harness part in the Name box.
3. Set the template option in one of the following ways:
◦ To use the default template, click OK.
