About the Planar Wall User Interface
The Planar user interface consists of commands, tabs, and shortcut menus. To access the Planar Wall tool, click Sheetmetal > Planar.
Commands
Under Thickness:
—Sets the sheet metal thickness.
—Flips the direction of the sheet metal thickness.
Tabs
References—Displays the selected sketch in the collector. Edit opens Sketcher to edit the sketch.
Options—These options are not available for a first wall and they include:
Merge to body—Merges the wall geometry to an existing wall in the body.
Keep merged edges—Does not merge wall edges to existing wall edges.
Keep edges of bends—Keeps the edges between existing bend surfaces and new geometry being created.
Do not merge to body—Does not merge the wall geometry to an existing wall in the body.
Set driving surface opposite sketch plane—Flips the driving surface of the sheet metal.
Body Options—Allows you to create the new wall as a new body or to add the new wall to a different body.
Create new body check box—Creates the feature in a new body.
Linked to part—Select to link the new body to the part. A body that is linked to the part takes all its sheet metal preferences from the part.
Body collector—Shows the name of the body to which geometry is added.
The currently active body.
Click the box and select a different body to add the geometry to an existing body.
The new body.
Properties—Displays detailed feature information:
Name—Shows a name for the wall.
—Shows feature information in a browser.
Shortcut Menus
Right-click the graphics window to access the shortcut commands:
Edit Internal Sketch—Opens the sketch in Sketcher for editing.
Clear—Removes the selected reference from the collector.
Flip Thickness Side—Changes the direction of the sheet metal thickness.
Define Internal Sketch—Selects the sketch plane and opens Sketcher to define the sketch.
