About Searching For Components
EMX component Search
You can conduct a component search in EMX. Use simple keyword search, or the following advanced options:
• Multiple search terms separated by blank spaces
• Search terms in random order
• Search terms indexing by category, supplier, type, or order number.

Adding Component Search
When you conduct the first EMX component search, the components data is collected and indexed. This data will be available for your next searches.
To add the component search to the navigator: Select > > 
Find .
Find .The component search navigator is split horizontally into two trees:
• Upper tree shows Results of the component search.
• Lower tree shows the saved components Favorites.
Searching for Components
1. To open the search dialog box, double-click it on the tree.
2. Enter a search term in the search box and click Return. You can:
3. Right-click a search and click 
Open Document
Open Documentto open the corresponding .dat file.
4. Switch unit system by selecting Tree settings 
Save Components to Favorites
1. Right-click a search in the Upper Tree and click 
Add to Favorites.
Add to Favorites.◦ The component is added to Lower Tree.
◦ Favorites are saved locally according to the current EMX configuration.
2. Right-click a favorite in the Lower Tree and click 
Remove from Favorites.
Remove from Favorites.3. Open any component dialog and click Add to Favorites in the upper left corner.
