About Communicating Server Status in a Windchill Connected Session of Creo
When users access the server objects, Creo accesses the Windchill database and notifies the users about the status of the server objects. The glyphs or symbols in the Windchill Server Status column of the Model Tree represent the current status of the objects. The glyphs indicate whether users can concurrently work on the latest version of the server objects without overwriting each other’s changes in the multi-user environment.
The glyphs also indicate the current object status from either Windchill or Creo session, or if there are any potential issues that could prevent the user from storing the objects back into Windchill.
The glyphs representing the status of the server objects in the Windchill Server Status column of the Model Tree in Creo are the same as the glyphs representing the status of the server objects in the Workspace listing page of Windchill.
When a server object has more than one status, the Windchill Server Status column in the Model Tree displays either important information or summary of the status with or glyphs that corresponds with the most severe state of the server object. The tooltip of the glyph displays additional statuses of the server object in the order of priority, the most severe to the least severe.
The following table explains which statuses are categorized as Critical Server Information or Warnings.

Model is checked out by another user and has been modified in the Workspace or Creo session.
Model has been modified in the Workspace or Creo session and another user has not checked out the latest iteration of the model.
Model has been modified in the Workspace or Creo session and has been checked out to another Workspace by you.
Model is locked in the Workspace and has been modified in Creo session

Model has been locked and modified in the Workspace.
The status of the server objects helps you determine the consequence of your intended actions. For instance, when a server object is checked out by another user and the changes made require an upload and check in to the server, the Windchill Server Status column displays the glyph that represents critical server information. You can defer your intention to reference the object until its out-of-date status is cleared. If you are notified that the iteration of the server object you are trying to check out is not the latest, you can perform an Update action to add the latest iteration of the object to the Workspace.
While working on the same server objects in Creo or Windchill, Creo retrieves the latest status of the objects from the server. The Model Tree displays the current and the active status symbols and notifications of the server objects. The Notification Center reports critical information and warnings regarding the state of the server objects.
The Windchill Server Status column automatically refreshes when a server status change is detected or can be manually refreshed by clicking File > Manage File > Refresh Server Status in Creo or by-clicking on the status of a server object on the Model Tree and click Refresh Server Status in the shortcut menu to update the status of the object.
