To Show Reach Envelopes
A reach envelope shows the volume that a person can reach while in any posture during a task. You can show one or more reach envelopes for each manikin in the scene.
You can display reach envelopes for multiple manikins in a scene.
1. Open the Reach Envelopes dialog box in one of these ways:
Click Manikin > Reach Envelopes. All the manikins in the scene are listed in a table.
In the Manikin Tree, select one or more manikins, and then right-click and select Reach Envelopes from the shortcut menu. Only the selected manikins are listed in the table, and you cannot add manikins to the selection.
Each row in the table contains one manikin.
2. For each manikin, show or hide reach envelopes in any of the following ways:
In the row of the manikin, select check boxes to show the reach envelopes, or clear the check boxes to hide them:
—Index finger
—Middle finger
—Thumb
—Center of palm (prehension)
In the row of the manikin, right-click the name of the manikin, and select a command:
Show all envelopes—Shows all reach envelopes for the manikin.
Hide all envelopes—Hides all reach envelopes for the manikin.
3. Click OK to keep the current selections, or click Cancel to go back to the display state before you clicked Reach Envelopes.
