About Communicating Server Status in a Windchill Connected Session of Creo
When users access the server objects, Creo accesses the Windchill database and notifies the users about the status of the server objects. The glyphs or symbols in the 
Windchill Server Status column of the Model Tree represent the current status of the objects. The glyphs indicate whether users can concurrently work on the latest version of the server objects without overwriting each other’s changes in the multi-user environment.

The status of the server objects helps you determine the consequence of your intended actions. For instance, when a server object is checked out by another user and the changes made require an upload and check in to the server, the Windchill Server Status column displays the glyph that represents critical server information. You can defer your intention to reference the object until its out-of-date status is cleared. If you are notified that the iteration of the server object you are trying to check out is not the latest, you can perform an Update action to add the latest iteration of the object to the Workspace.

The Windchill Server Status column automatically refreshes when a server status change is detected or can be manually refreshed by clicking > > in Creo or by-clicking on the status of a server object on the Model Tree and click Refresh Server Status in the shortcut menu to update the status of the object.

When working with workspaces in Creo, propagating updates to Commonspace properties to objects open in Creo session in real time can be disruptive.
These changes, such as updates to the new name, revision, out of date status, and lifecycle state of objects do not immediately propagate to the active Creo session.
A notification in the in-graphics message area will notify users of unsynchronized Commonspace properties. The updates will only be applied to the Creo session by either selecting Apply from the notification or by performing Workspace synchronization. Until the updates are applied, the Creo session will remain stale.
