Template browser overview
The Template Browser clearly displays and makes available the design symbol templates that you can add to your model. It provides quick access to factory-defined generic and user-defined symbols.
This browser works like the Structure Browser.
Structure
The Template Browser uses the following structure:
Category
The symbol category (GD & T, Surface, Welding, and user defined).
Symbol
Shows the thumbnail and name of available registered symbols.
To create a registered symbol, double-click it in the Template Browser, or right-click and select Apply Selection from the context menu.
Context menu
The controls on the context menus in the Template Browser are similar to those in the Structure Browser. Right-click to open the menu.
The Actions menu of the Template Browser contains commands to help you work with templates.
The Actions menu includes:
Write Tree
Opens the File Browser and saves the tree, as seen in the browser, to a text file.
Write to HTML
Details registered templates in an HTML table and opens it in a browser.
Expand All
Expands the complete tree (you can also click on the plus (+) symbol to expand specific trees).
Collapse All
Collapses the complete tree (you can also click on the negative (-) symbol to collapse specific trees).
To remove a user-defined template from the template browser, including all associated files, right-click the template and select Remove from the context menu. This action permanently removes the template; it will not be available in future 3D Documentation sessions.
To edit a template thumbnail, right-click the template and select Edit Thumbnail from the context menu.
