Multi-language settings
You can enable multi-language support and set the default values as described below.
To set multi-language values,
1. Click File > Settings > Multi Language. The Default Settings table opens and the multi-language settings are visible.
2. Double-click a setting to change its value. You can set the following values:
Multi Language Settings—Enables multi-language support when you load or create a drawing. By default, multi-language support is disabled.
*
If multi-language support is disabled, the drawing is loaded with the last-saved language settings. You cannot change the languages and the multi-language table is not available.
Languages Supported—Enables the languages for which the value is set to Yes. Only the enabled languages are visible in the multi-language table. By default, all supported languages are enabled.
*
An administrator can edit the label of any language by setting the value to Change Label and then typing the label. The changed label is then available in the multi-language table as well as throughout Creo Elements/Direct Modeling for language selection. To edit a label, the administrator must set the multi-language table path to user level. After editing the label, the administrator can add multi-language text in the language column of the multi-language table, edit the table ID and version, and save the table at the corporate level. The administrator must copy this new version of the table to the multi-language table path for the corporate level, to make it available to all users.
Primary Language—Sets the primary language for all multi-language text in the drawing. The default language is English.
Secondary Language—Sets the secondary language for all multi-language text in the drawing. You can set different formatting attributes for the secondary language. For details, see Setting the secondary language attributes.
Multi-Language Texts Separator—Sets a separator for multi-language text. The default separator is /.
*
If Display On Separate Lines is set to Yes, multi-language text is displayed on two lines, except for text in surface finish and welding symbols.
Display On Separate Lines—Displays multi-language text on two separate lines. The default is Yes.
*
This setting is not available for multi-language text in symbols.
The value of Display On Separate Lines is ignored for multi-line text.
Multi-Language Table Path—Sets the multi-language table path to one of corporate level, site level, or user level. The default is corporate level. According to the value, you or an administrator must set the path using one of the following environment variables:
SDCORPCUSTOMIZEDIR, to set the path to a central location for the complete organization.
SDSITECUSTOMIZEDIR, to set the path to a central location for each site of the organization.
SDUSERCUSTOMIZEDIR, to set the path to a location on your computer. The default path is C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\PTC\Creo Elements Direct Modeling <release>\<release>.
You or the administrator must store the multi-language table in the specified location.
*
PTC recommends that an administrator create and maintain the multi-language table at a corporate or site level. If it is stored at a site level, the administrator must ensure that all sites use the same copy of the table.
Setting the secondary language attributes
You can set a different font, size, and color for the secondary language text. The fonts are set to the Creo Elements/Direct‐supported fonts by default. The font size is relative to the font size of the primary language and is 0.75 by default. The default color is blue.
*
You can use these settings only for secondary language text on a separate line.
