Configure Annotation: Overview
Customization definitions can be broken down into three related types:
Default settings determining the appearance of drawing elements; for example, section lines and detail borders. These are set in the Default Settings browser.
New definitions of customized styles, to be in addition to the defaults; for example, hatch patterns and frames. These can be included in the Default Settings browser, or created as separate files and loaded into Creo Elements/Direct Annotation.
Initial defaults that determine the start-up settings for Creo Elements/Direct Annotation commands; for example, new standard view selections and the start-up isometric mode. These functions can be declared in the Default Settings browser or created as separate files and loaded into Creo Elements/Direct Annotation.
Other aspects of customization, such as creating your own sheet frames, are handled directly in the interface, but must still be explicitly defined to be recognized by Creo Elements/Direct Annotation. The following sections explain the steps required for each element of customization.
Load files into Creo Elements/Direct Annotation by entering the following command into the user input line:
(load "filename")
You can also add this line to the am_customize file to load a file automatically upon initialization.
Note that Creo Elements/Direct Annotation searches a number of locations for customization files upon start-up. For information about this, and also for detailed descriptions of the functions and options in the am_customize, am_plot_customize, and defaults.m files, see Creo Elements/Direct Annotation customization for advanced users.
