Modify the material
You can modify the material and thickness of a sheet metal part at any time. When modifying the thickness of a sheet metal part, take the following limitations into account:
Parts containing stamps or offsets cannot be modified.
Bend-relief depths are not adjusted automatically. They must be deep enough to compensate thickness growth in bend regions.
Bends not created with Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal (for example, by importing parts or by blending operations) must be changed to Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal bends using the Attach Bend button in the Attach group. Otherwise, the thickness change does not preserve the inner-bend radius and therefore invalidates the relation: outer-radius=inner-radius + thickness
The modification applies to the defined start face only. You cannot define multiple faces.
Changing the material thickness is not possible if round corner reliefs are on the inside.
To change the material and thickness of a sheet metal part,
1. Click Sheet Metal and then, in the Modify Sheet group, click the arrow next to More.
2. Click Material. The Modify Material dialog box opens.
3. Click a Moved Face. This is the face where the thickness change takes place. Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal highlights the face you have clicked and displays values for the current material and thickness.
4. If necessary click Material to display the sheet metals table. The Material box shows the material as set in the Shop Based Settings dialog box. Specify the new material and thickness (you can also enter the values manually in the appropriate data-entry fields).
5. Click to complete the operation.
