Manage the material library
You can define and modify materials, and these material properties will be available in future Creo Elements/Direct Modeling sessions. You can also delete material entries from the table.
You can create more than one entry in the materials table for the same material, each with different attributes, such as a different color. The material is selected by its identifier, which must be unique in the table.
To define or modify a material,
1. Click Part Library and then, Materials group, click (dialog box launcher). The Settings dialog box opens.
2. To create a new material, click New in the Table of materials section.
3. To modify an existing material, click Modify in the Table of materials section.
4. Set the following properties:
Identifier: A unique name that distinguishes this material from other materials in the library.
Name: The name of your material, such as aluminum.
Class: An information-only field which is useful for sorting the table.
Density: The material density.
Reflectance: The amount of light reflected by the part. Any value between 0 and 1 is valid. 0 is no reflectance, 1 is full reflectance. The closer the number is to 1, the more reflective the part will become.
Transparency: The transparency or opacity of the part. Set to 1 for full transparency or 0 for full opacity. Any number between 0 and 1 is partially transparent.
Color: The part color.
