Create a branch on an existing segment
You can add a branch to a channel segment. Branch points on channel edges must split the edge into two halves, otherwise automatic path calculation will not consider the branching. You must select a point on an existing edge. This point is used as spline start point and Cabling automatically splits the underlying edge.
To insert a branch in the middle of a channel segment,
1. Click Spline Channel and then, in the Channel group, click Create. The Spline Channel Editor dialog box opens.
2. Click the Create tab.
3. Click .
4. Select a point on an existing channel edge.
*
Select or clear the Show Solids check box at any time to show or hide the solid representation of the channel, respectively.
5. Select further points.
6. Click to complete the operation.

If you select an end point of a spline as the branch point, as you cannot split the edge there, Cabling assumes that you want to continue to add additional points to this edge and asks for confirmation.
To insert a branch at the end of a channel segment,
1. Click .
2. Specify a free end point on an existing channel edge.
3. Confirm the selection.
4. Select further points.
5. Click to complete the operation.
