Change Configuration settings
Configuration settings let you control how Creo Elements/Direct Modeling behaves when you create and work with a configuration.
To change Configuration settings,
1. Click File > Settings > Configuration. The Configuration Settings dialog box opens with two tabs. The tabs display the categories of options and the dialog box displays the options for each category.
2. The Activate tab allows you to control which actions are performed when you double-click a configuration in the Structure Browser. The settings assign a hot key that you can hold down while double-clicking, and the action listed at the top of the column will be applied. Set the following options on the Activate tab:
None: Action(s) to perform when you double-click a configuration without any key held down.
Shift: Action(s) to perform when you hold the Shift key and double-click a configuration.
Ctrl: Action(s) to perform when you hold the Ctrl key and double-click a configuration.
3. The Misc tab includes the following properties:
Smooth Update: You can set the amount of time it takes for parts to move from their current positions to the positions stored in the configuration.
Allow positioning outside Configuration Owner: If you select this option, you will be able to move parts that are not owned by the configuration's owner assembly.
Message if Formations are loaded: Display a warning message if you load an assembly with a formation. The message does not prevent you from working; it only tells you that you should convert the formation to a configuration.
Assembly Highlight Color: The color of assemblies when you highlight your configuration.
Part Highlight Color: The color of parts when you highlight your configuration.
4. Click Reset to restore the settings of a single category, selected categories, or all categories of options to the Site, Corp, or Factory default settings. The Reset Configuration Settings dialog box opens. The current category is selected by default if you click Reset.
5. Click Close when you are finished. Changes are applied as you change settings.
