Lightweight viewing options
Creo Elements/Direct Modeling includes the option to publish lightweight drawings and models—small, easily distributed drawings or models that make it easy for anyone with a PC to interpret and understand 2D and 3D design data.
Publish drawings or models of Creo Elements/Direct Modeling models in these lightweight viewing formats:
Creo View
Creo View is the viewing solution within PTC's Product Development System (PDS). You can export files to the Creo View (*.pvz) format from Creo Elements/Direct Modeling. You can then view the exported files in Creo View.
eDrawings™
The eDrawings Publisher is a plug-in with which you can create eDrawings files. You can view these files with the eDrawings Viewer. If you enable the eDrawings Professional for Creo Elements/Direct Modeling license, the files will be review-enabled.
XVL
XVL is a highly compressed 3D file format that can be viewed in a web browser. To view these files, you must have a browser plug-in from Lattice 3D, the developers of XVL. For more information about XVL and to download the free viewer, please visit Lattice 3D's web site.
U3D
Use this format to share 3D drawings on the Internet and in common software applications. U3D files are CAD files stripped of most of their engineering data, but they contain enough information to provide a high-quality interactive 3D view of complex product designs. Visualizing U3D data requires either a U3D viewer or that the data be embedded in a PDF file.
3D PDF
3D PDF is based on U3D. Use this feature to automatically embed a U3D file in a PDF document.
*
You must have the U3D/3D PDF module license to export U3D and 3D PDF files.
