Introduction
Fluent user interface for Model Manager was introduced with Creo Elements/Direct 18.0. The Fluent user interface facilitates faster access to commands by grouping the commands according to their functions.
The Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager user interface consists of the following elements:
1. File Menu
2. Quick Access Toolbar
3. Ribbon
4. Quick Search
5. Workspace Bar
6. Information Panel
7. Left Pane
For more information, see Quick Tour in the Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager Help.
With Creo Elements/Direct 18.1 and above, you can customize the Fluent user interface.
The Fluent user interface layout is defined by an XML syntax. The XML definition can be either completely replaced or modified selectively in the custom.xml. For more information on extending the custom.xml, see Running Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager.

The shortcut menu in Model Manager’s structure views is not affected by the Fluent user interface migration and continues to work as before. You can customize the Fluent user interface controls independently of the shortcut menu. For example, a command can be available only in the shortcut menu, or only in the ribbon or in both.
