How to.. > Assign a new System ID
Assign a new System ID
The System ID, or SysID, is an identifier generated by Creo Elements/Direct Modeling for each item you create. Each item saved in Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager must have a unique SysID. When you create a new part by modifying an existing part you must assign a new SysID to the new part before saving it in Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager.
For example, to create a new product which includes parts from an existing product with some new parts, you must assign new SysIDs to the old parts.
To assign a new SysID,
1. Load the existing assembly in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
2. In Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, click File > Model Manager > Resolve Conflicts > Assign new SysID to local model. Alternatively, right-click the model and, in the shortcut menu, click Model Manager > Assign new SysID to local model
3. Save the new assembly in Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager. You can choose to assign a new model name either in the Save dialog box or have the Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager Name Conflicts wizard assign new model names.
