Add Masterdata attributes to new models or drawings
In certain cases, you may want to set Masterdata attributes when you save new models or drawings to the database. For example, if you have required attributes for Masterdata, you must set a value for the Masterdata attribute in the Save dialog box.
Because the Save dialog box only displays models or drawings, you must create a pseudo attribute. Pseudo attributes are similar to normal attributes, except they only appear to be associated with a class, such as models. Although you set the pseudo attribute value when you save new models or drawings, Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager saves the value to the Masterdata.
To create a pseudo attribute,
1. In Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager Standalone, click Admin on the Workspace Bar.
2. In the left pane, under What do you want to manage?, click Attributes and Classes. The Attributes & Classes Management pane opens.
3. Add a new Masterdata attribute. For more information, see Attributes.
4. Right-click the new Masterdata attribute and, in the context menu, click Enable setting of attribute during Save. A corresponding dialog box opens.
5. Type a name for the pseudo attribute and click OK.
*
For clarity, type a different display name for your pseudo attribute than your attribute display name.
6. In the left pane, under What do you want to manage?, click Deploy Now.
7. In Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, define the attribute passing on the database table (class) of the pseudo attribute. For more information, see the Integration Kit section in the Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Help Center.
*
If you define attribute passing on the Masterdata class, the passed attribute value is not available on the Save dialog box.
8. You may also choose to create and assign a Data Dictionary or number generator to the pseudo attributes. For more information, see Add a Data Dictionary, or Create number generators.
Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager automatically configures your xml file. When you save new models or drawings,
You can view and set values for the pseudo attribute in the Save dialog box.
Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager automatically creates new Masterdata for the model or drawing and saves the pseudo attribute value with the Masterdata in the database.
*
By default, the pseudo attribute displays only in the Save dialog box, and is only useful the first time you save a model or drawing, thereby creating new Masterdata. To avoid confusion, you must not display the pseudo attribute in the Workspace or DB Properties.
