Split a part in the BOM
Splits are most often used in the manufacturing process to represent different quantities or lengths of a part, or even processes (like grinding requirements for weldments). Although most of these things are handled by your ERP or MRP system, Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager does provide initial ability.
Use Add Split in the BOM Editor to represent one part in multiple line items in the BOM. For example, you may have a piece of cable that is delivered in 10 meter lengths and you need three cables of different sizes, one at five meters, one at four meters, and one at three meters. Do an Add Split to the cable so you have three instances of the cable in your BOM. Once you've split the part, edit the link attribute to specify the size of each cable.
