Create a BOM: manually
You may want to create a BOM before creating a part in Modeling.
Later you can use the Scan BOM command to compare the existing BOM with the modeled part that's been saved to Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager. If the two don't match, you can reconcile them. See Reconcile an existing BOM with a model.
To manually create a BOM,
1. To create a new Masterdata item in the workspace, click Home and then, in the Edit group, click the arrow next to Add New.
2. Click Masterdata. Alternatively, File > New > Masterdata. The New Masterdata dialog box opens.
3. Fill out the required attributes for the Masterdata.
4. Click OK.
5. To add additional Masterdata items, click Structure and then, in the BOM group, click BOM Editor. Alternatively, right-click the masterdata and, in the shortcut menu, click BOM > BOM Editor.
6. Click the arrow next to Add and click New Masterdata or Existing Masterdata.
7. Fill out the required attributes for the Masterdata.
8. Edit the BOM information in the BOM Editor. For example, edit the amount in Spare Qty.
Once the BOM is complete, you can Generate a BOM report and Send a BOM to another program such as HTML or Excel.
