Add and customize drawing text references
Your company may want you to use a customized title block. Your administrator can create a company-customized title block and store it in Creo Elements/Direct Manager Server.
Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager users should not customize the title block from Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager; if you change a title block in Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager, the changes are not saved with a Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager store operation. The title block is not stored with Creo Elements/Direct Drafting drawings, but is loaded each time from the database.
To add and customize drawing text references:
Text references are attributes on your drawing and are associated with the database. For example, the text reference called owner is associated with the owner of the drawing.
In Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager, you can add and customize text references, which you can then save with your drawing. This includes:
Adding text references to the drawing.
Changing text reference properties, such as width of the field.
Unassigning a text reference (disassociating it from the database).
To add a drawing text reference:
1. Load or create a drawing.
2. In the drawing, add some text (for example, "xxx") where you want the new attribute.
3. Click File > Drawing Manager > Title Block Config > Assign References.
4. Select an attribute from the Text Ref Names dialog box.
*
All the reference names starting with "p_" are Masterdata properties.
5. Click on "xxx" to place the new drawing text reference.
You can display the text reference name by selecting File > Drawing Manager > Title Block > Draw Names and can display the text reference value by selecting File > Drawing Manager > Title Block > Draw Values.
To change drawing text reference properties:
1. From the menu panel, click File > Drawing Manager > Title Block Config, then click Change.
2. Select from the following options:
Width - specify the character width of the text reference. If the value or name contains more characters than you specify here, the name or value will be truncated.
Case Convention - specify that the text reference is all upper case, all lower case, or that you want to turn off case conversion.
Lines - specify the number of lines allowed for the text reference.
Word Wrap - enable word wrapping for a multi-line text reference. Typically, when enabling Word Wrap, you will also define a Width and number of Lines for the text reference.
Precision - specify the precision on numeric fields
3. If needed, specify or select the change value.
4. Click on the text reference you want to change.
For example, to truncate a text reference field to 5 characters, select Width, then type 5 (and press Enter) into the entry field on the bottom of the Creo Elements/Direct Drafting window, then click on the text reference.
To unassign a drawing text reference (disassociate it from the database):
If you no longer want a drawing text reference to reflect updates from the database, use the File > Drawing Manager > Title Block Config > Unassign menu pick. Because you cannot permanently alter the title block, use this only to unassign a drawing text reference (one that you have created), rather than a title block text reference
