UI settings
The UI Settings dialog box controls how the user interface handles your input. By adjusting these settings, you can increase the speed with which you interact with the user interface. To view and change the user interface settings click File > Settings > UI.
The available options are described in the following:
Task Bar:
Animation: Define the speed of the task panel as it slides in and out.
Menu: When Show on Mouse Over is on, the main task bar menus will change when the mouse moves over them. When the option is off, the menus must be clicked to change.
Command: When Show Icons is on, the task panel displays icons and text.
Commands tab:
Show OK and Cancel buttons: Check this box if you would like these buttons accessible outside of the dialog boxes and displayed in the viewport itself.
Placement of command options: This box lets you decide where your command boxes will open on the viewport.
Controls tab:
Button Trigger: This option changes the response of the left mouse button. When set to On Release, the command is completed when the mouse button is released (this is the default). When set to On Push, the command is completed when the mouse button is pressed.
Data Fields:
Auto Accept on focus lost: This option specifies whether or not you need to press ENTER after typing in a box. When set to off, you must press ENTER to tell Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access to accept the data (this is the default). When set to on, you do not need to tell Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access to accept the data. It does it automatically as soon as you click another box or start another action.
Keep Last Values: This option specifies whether or not to switch on the extended context menu when you right-click a box.
Multiline Input Field Font: Set the font used in the multiline text editor. Click Modify to choose a different font, style, and size.
User Input Line tab:
Auto complete entries in the user input line: This option specifies whether or not Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access is to automatically complete entries in the user input line when you type in the first few characters of the entry. The system uses the current contents of the user input line history for this auto completion.
Pass dialog keyboard input to user input line: This option specifies whether or not to pass the keyboard input to the user input line in the situation that a submenu of Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access has the keyboard focus and not the main application window. If a text-entry dialog has the focus, this option has no effect, that is, the input goes to that text-entry dialog and not to the user input line.
User Input Line History: This option specifies the number of entries to be kept in the registry. This means that inputs you make in the current session are made available in the next session. The history log can contain up to 50 entries. You can also choose not to save entries or to clear the history log.
Customizations tab:
Show Directories: The Output box displays the Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access customization directories and their locations.
*
For more information on the customization directories and their locations, see the Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Help.
Reset Settings: All personal UI and persistent settings are removed and Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access is shut down if you click Continue. Use this option carefully because data will be lost.
Misc tab:
Preselection Mode: This option specifies whether or not to switch on the preselection mode. To enable preselection mode, click UI Settings to display the UI Settings menu and click Preselection on.
Recently Used Files: Specifies the number of files listed in the File dialog box which were loaded or saved recently. By default up to 4 files are listed. You can define a value between 2 and 16 to see up to 16 most recently used files. If the file does not exist anymore, the file will be automatically deleted from the most recently used list.
