Measure the properties of faces
You can use this part of the Measure group of buttons to measure either the area or centroid of selected faces.

To measure the area of a face
1. Click Analysis and then, in the Measure group, click Face. The Measure Output and Face Props dialog boxes open.
2. Click the face you wish to measure.
3. Click Area under Calculate. The viewer displays the area of the face (in the currently active linear units) in the Face Area Output box.
4. To measure the area of other faces, click Face and click a face.
5. Click to complete the operation.
To measure the centroid of a face
1. Click Analysis and then, in the Measure group, click Face. The Measure Output and Face Props dialog boxes open.
2. Click the face you wish to measure.
3. Click Centroid under Calculate.
4. To set a specific tolerance, click Percent and enter a value. The viewer displays the coordinates of the selected face (in the currently active linear units) in the Face Centroid Output box.
5. To measure the centroid of other faces, click Face and click another face.
6. Click to complete the operation.
