Measure the normal direction of a face
To measure the normal direction of a face
1. Click
Analysis and then, in the
Measure group, click the arrow next to
Direction.
2. Click
Direction 3D. The
Measure Output dialog box opens with X, Y, and Z fields.
3. You now have two choices for measuring the face direction:
◦ For the face direction out of the part, right-click the viewport and select Face Normal.
◦ For the face direction into the part, right-click the viewport and select -Face Normal.
4. Specify the face. The viewer displays the direction in the X, Y, and Z fields.
5. You can click further measure options, or click
to complete the operation.
