Measure the length of an edge or curve
You can measure the length of an edge or curve in the viewport. The element can be straight, curved, or even a closed circle or spline.
The measurable drawing elements can be any of the following: view and added geometry, center and symmetry lines, sketches, and the sheet frame. Infinite construction lines cannot be measured.
To measure a length
1. On the 3D Access — Annotation tab, in the Utilities group, click the arrow next to Between Points.
2. Click Length. The Measure dialog box opens.
3. Click an element in the viewport to measure. The element's length is displayed in the Length Output box.
*
A length measurement is calculated between vertices. If the element to measure consists of connected segments, only an individual segment is measured when clicked. Use Between Points in this case to measure straight lines. To reveal the construction of an element, click the Vertices check box in the Show dialog box (in Show Settings).
4. Continue clicking elements, or click or to complete the command.
You can click OK to use the output from Length as input for an interrupted operation.
