Change the viewport background
You can change the background of a viewport to be a single color, a color gradient (of two or three colors), or an image.
To set a single-color viewport background
1. Right-click the viewport and select Viewport Properties. The Vport dialog box opens.
2. Click Background. The Viewport Background dialog box opens.
3. Click Single Color in the Type box.
4. Click Color 1.
5. Specify a color in the Color Selector.
6. Click .
Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access displays the viewport with the chosen background color.
To set a color-gradient viewport background
1. Right-click the viewport and select Viewport Properties. The Vport dialog box opens.
2. Click Background. The Viewport Background dialog box opens.
3. Click Color Gradient in the Type box.
4. Click either 2 Colors or 3 Colors to specify the number of colors there should be in the gradient. The colors 1, 2, and 3 are used from top to bottom in the viewport.
5. Click Color 1.
6. Specify a color in the Color Selector.
7. Specify a color for Color 2 and Color 3 (if used) in the same way.
8. Click .
Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access displays the viewport with the chosen background color gradient.
To use an image as the viewport background

Windows systems equipped with graphics boards supporting hardware-accelerated texture mapping are highly recommended. This ensures a good viewport-redraw performance with a background image.
Only Windows bitmaps can be used as images in the viewport background.
1. Right-click the viewport and select Viewport Properties. The Vport dialog box opens.
2. Click Background. The Viewport Background dialog box opens.
3. Click Image in the Type box.
4. Select one of the following options for the background image:
Centered - Centers and resizes the image to fill the viewport completely.
Tiled - Keeps the image at its original size and distributes ("tiles") it throughout the viewport to fill it.
5. Click File to open the File Browser.
6. Specify a bitmap (.bmp) image file in the File Browser.
7. Click .
Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access displays the viewport with the chosen image in the background.
