Showing docuplanes
To help you visualize your annotations, you can restrict the viewport's drawlist to only a selection of annotations based on their owning docuplane. When you show the annotations of a docuplane, the viewport changes as follows:
The viewport's drawlist is changed so that it shows only the selected docuplane.
The view direction is changed to be the docuplane direction.
Only annotations belonging to the selected docuplane are displayed in the viewport; all others are hidden.
Note that if the selected docuplane is a sub-docuplane, then the sub-docuplane border defines what is shown in the viewport.
To show a docuplane's annotations:
1. Click Analysis and then, in the Inspect group, click Show Docuplane. The Show Docuplane dialog box opens.
2. Click Reset Viewport to remove the clipping planes and coordinate axis from the view of the model.
3. Optionally, click Viewport and specify the viewport in which you wish to show the docuplane.
4. Specify the docuplane whose annotations are to be shown:
Click Docuplane and type its name to make it active, or select it in the browser.
Click Annotation and click an existing annotation to select its owning docuplane.
5. If the selected docuplane is a section docuplane, you can choose whether or not it should visually section the model; Clear the Cross Section check box to remove sectioning. (This option is de-activated for all docuplanes except section docuplanes.)
6. If required:
Click the Use Active Clip Feature check box to display model clipping planes.
Click the Use Manage Parts / WP Info check box to define whether parts and assembly should be displayed (according to existing Manage Parts settings). Clearing the check box displays all parts.
Click the Show Coordinate Axis check box to display the docuplane's coordinate system (axis) in the viewport.
7. Continue showing docuplanes, or click to end the show session.
Two additional tools offer you further control over which annotations to show:
To show the annotations on all docuplanes having in common a specific owner, specify the Owner by clicking a part or by selecting the part, assembly, or container in the browser.
To show all free annotations in the viewport, simply click Show all free annos in the dialog box.
Keep in mind that the settings are restricted to the viewport selected. It is possible therefore to have multiple viewports each showing a different docuplane. This could be useful, for example, to show two section docuplanes in two viewports at the same time.
