3D CoPilot settings
Use the 3D CoPilot Settings dialog box to change snap or drag settings, or to change the look of 3D CoPilot. To access this dialog box, click File > Settings > 3D CoPilot.
Change snap options
To turn 3D snap off, open the 3D CoPilot Settings dialog box and clear Snap always in the Snapping pane.
Change drag options
In the Drag pane, click Smooth to have every viewport pixel considered for drag. Smooth mode does not allow precision dragging. To drag using discrete values for distances or angles, use Fixed mode and specify fixed distance and angle value. The default Dynamic mode allows precision dragging by snapping to an invisible grid. Use the slider to adjust the grid size.
Click the Show Signed Values check box to display positive or negative distance values in the feedback when you drag the 3D CoPilot in the viewport. If you drag a selected element in the direction of the 3D CoPilot dragger (arrow), the feedback displays a positive distance value and if you drag the element in the opposite direction, the feedback displays a negative distance value. By default, Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access does not display signed values. Set the color of the dimension lines that appear in the viewport when you move the 3D CoPilot dragger (arrow) to view signed values, in the Signed Dimension Color box. Show Signed Values must be selected to change the color of the dimension lines.
Change the text window
Hide or re-position the 3D CoPilot cursor text window using the Text pane. To increase the speed and smoothness of the 3D CoPilot window on your display, change the window Type attribute to Graphic. The Graphic window type also allows you to customize the text color, border, and background of the 3D CoPilot window.
Change 3D CoPilot appearance
Customize the colors of snappable and snapped elements, as well as 3D CoPilot elements, using the Look pane. Click the color square to open the color palette and select a new color.
To change the size of the 3D CoPilot on your display, adjust the slider in the Size pane. To keep the 3D CoPilot a constant size, regardless of zoom, clear Dynamic Scaling.
Show objects in different colors using the Show pane. Switch on Clash to show clashing or touching objects in the clash color. Switch on Freedom to show the degrees of freedom colors when using the Mate or Align options, or for parts influenced by a relation set (Update Relations must be active in the Position dialog box). Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access colors the fixed part blue and the free part orange.
