General Tab
While configuring a tracker, the General tab allows you to edit the tracker attributes for the selected tracker. The following attributes can be edited on the General tab:
Template: You can select a template for the selected tracker type from the template list. Select the Available as template option to enable the tracker to be used as a template. For more information, see Tracker Inheritance.
Name: You can edit the name of the tracker. This is a mandatory field
Tracker Branched or Shared?: Displays if the tracker is shared or branched. For more details, see Create a Tracker.
Key (short name): You can provide a short name to the tracker. This is a mandatory field.
Color: You can customize the color of the breadcrumb navigation field of a tracker.
Breadcrumb Icon: You can modify the icon of a tracker in the breadcrumb navigation field. To modify the icon, upload an image by selecting Attach a file link in the Breadcrumb Icon field. The maximum size of the image that can be uploaded is 128x128 pixels.
Icon: You can modify the icon of the tracker that is displayed in the wiki links, tree icons and everywhere where a tracker icon is displayed. To modify the icon, upload an image by selecting Attach a file link. The icon must be a 32x32 pixel PNG image with transparent background. If you want to use the default icon instead of the one that you uploaded you can switch back to it using the Reset to default checkbox. The tracker icon is inherited through templating and branching but you can overwrite it if required. This means that a newly created branch will have the same custom icon as the tracker you created it from.
*
When a branch is created for a tracker, the branch inherits the customized icon of the tracker. This means that the configuration window of the branch does not contain an Icon field and the option to upload an image.
Default layout: You can set a default view for a tracker. To modify the tracker layout select any of the available options in the Default layout list.
Description: You can add a description for the tracker. This is a mandatory field.
Inbox: You can associate an email address and or inbox with the tracker, in order to allow submitting new issues via email. To associate an inbox with the tracker, select an inbox in the Inbox list. For more information, see section Email Integration: Sending Emails to Codebeamer.
Workflow: Select Active to enable the workflows and state transitions for the tracker. You can use trackers with or without workflows. Trackers can inherit a workflow from other trackers or use their own workflows. The workflows can also be customized. For more information, see State Transitions.
*
Selecting Active enables the Only workflow actions can create new referring Items and Always use quick transitions options for Referring Items and Transitions fields.
Referring Items: Select Only workflow actions can create new referring Items to enable the creation of new referring items through workflow actions. For more information, see Update Referring Items
Transitions: Select Always use quick transitions to see all the transitions for the tracker items without opening the item in the edit mode.
Visibility: To hide the tracker or CMDB category from the list of trackers or from the CMDB overview, select the Hidden checkbox in the Visibility field. Hiding trackers/categories can be useful for system internal trackers, for example, Time Tracking or Pull Request trackers. You can also use this option to clean up the Trackers and CMDB table by hiding trackers/categories that contain old information which you want to keep for future references, but which you do not want to modify any more. You can also make a hidden tracker visible again by unchecking the Hidden checkbox in the Visibility field.
Default Outline: To display parent/child items of tracker items by default, select the Show Ancestor Items and/or Show Descendant Items option in the Default Outline. If these options are selected, parent and child items will be displayed for tracker items in the Table View, Document View, and Document Edit View.
*
If ancestors/descendants are not displayed for the items of a specific tracker by default, and the Show Ancestor Items is also not selected in User Preferences (see Displaying Ancestor Items by Default in Document and Document Edit View), then instead of a tree view, you will see a simple list of tracker items on the left-hand side panel in the Document and Document Edit View of the tracker. You cannot use the drag-and-drop function to change the order of the items on this panel or to include an item in another item as a child.
OSLC type mapping: Use this option to establish a link between the tracker and OSLC-compliant tools. This option appears only for tracker types that can be linked to OSLC resource types. For more information, refer to Tracker and Field Mapping.
When the OSLC type mapping is set or changed, it is logged in the project audit trail in the Action column as OSLC type mapping and in the overall Codebeamer audit trail in the Event Type column as Artifact Update. For more information, see Project Audit Trail Tab and Codebeamer Audit Trail. The mapping is included in the project export file and project deployment package for all supported tracker types. During import, the mapping is restored.
If a branched tracker is added to a stream from the Initial Stream, the OSLC type mapping is inherited by the tracker in the new stream. This can be later overridden by the user.
Referring Trackers: Select this option to view the Recently Used Trackers section and Show All Applicable Trackers option while creating a downstream reference for an item in the document view.
Performance Enhancement Settings: This section consists of the following options:
Item Count: Select Visible on Tabs option to view the item count on the tabs available under the details section on the tracker item details page. This option is selected by default.
Reference: Select Visible in Document View option to view the downstream references in the right panel of the document view. This option is selected by default.
*
Selecting any of previously mentioned options may deteriorate the performance.
