Associating Graphics with an Application Using the Attribute Method
The attribute method associates a graphics application with a graphic element. For instance, you could associate an application with the graphic element. Whenever you double-click on a graphic tag or a graphic image within the tag pair, the graphics application is launched. To use this method, the attribute must be declared in your DTD. This method requires some technical knowledge of DTDs and application development, and should be done by a system administrator.
Before you can associate a graphic with a graphics application using the attribute method, you must configure a processor attribute for the graphic element in the document type's .dcf file. Refer to Enabling graphics support for a document type for more information on configuring a graphic processor attribute.
To associate a graphics application using the attribute method:
1. Open a document in Arbortext Editor.
2. Choose Insert > Graphic, and insert a graphic.
3. With your cursor within the graphic start and end tags, choose Edit > Modify Attributes.
4. Add the path and file name of the graphics application in the text box for the appropriate attribute, as configured in the document type's .dcf file.
5. Click OK.
6. Double-click on the graphic to which you just added the graphics application. If configured properly, the graphics application should launch with the graphic you double-clicked on displayed in its edit window.
