Adding an Equation to the Equation Editor Palette
1. In the Equation Editor window, highlight the equation or the piece of the equation that you want to place on the Palette.
*
If you cannot select the whole equation to add to one Palette button, you can add several buttons with a piece of the equation on each button. Then select the buttons needed to build the equation.
2. Press F3 or choose Commands > Keyboard Equivalents > Put Symbol on Palette from the menu.
*
If the button is placed on top of another button, you will need to move it — just click and drag the button to a new location on the Palette.
3. If you want to save the equation you added for the next editing session, choose File > Save Configuration.
This command writes a private apteqn.cf file to your application data directory. The application data directory is the directory where your operating system stores user-specific data. This is usually C:\Document and Settings\user_name\Application Data\PTC\Arbortext\Editor. Your private file will override the public file used at your site. To go back to the default Palette, remove the private file in your application data directory.
4. To insert the saved equation piece into an equation, click it.
