Using Arbortext Publishing Engine for Publishing Documents
Arbortext Editor users can send their publishing requests to Arbortext Publishing Engine. The Arbortext PE server performs document publishing for all output types, print, and print preview. Arbortext Editor must have Arbortext Publishing Engine enabled in the Publishing Engine panel of the Preferences dialog box. If you have Arbortext Styler or Print Composer and Web/Wireless Composer licenses, you can switch back to local publishing at any time by clearing the box for Use Publishing Engine. For instructions, refer to Arbortext Publishing Engine Preferences.
If you are using Arbortext Publishing Engine, the publishing options available from File > Publish are controlled by the options licensed on the Arbortext PE server.
The publishing, print preview, and print dialog boxes display the stylesheet, configuration, and frameset files available from the Arbortext PE server. These selections use the notation (pe) before the name if you are using Arbortext Publishing Engine.
If you choose Print Preview, the Print Preview window returns a formatted file, which you can then print to a locally available printer. If you chose Print, you'll choose a locally available printer where the file will be sent after Arbortext Publishing Engine returns it.
To continue editing while the document is being formatted by Arbortext Publishing Engine, you can set editduringformat in Tools > Preferences > Advanced. The preference setting is saved for future sessions.
