Publishing to PDF Dialog Box
The Publishing to PDF window displays progress information when you publish your document to a PDF file. It is activated when you choose one of the following actions, when your Arbortext Editor environment includes PTC Arbortext Layout Developer (PTC ALD) and is set to use PTC ALD as the default print engine:
In Arbortext Editor: The Publish to PDF action, invoked by the File > Publish > PDF File menu option
In Arbortext Styler: The Preview PDF action, invoked by the Preview > PDF menu option or the PDF PreviewThis is an image of a page with a red header, with a magnifying glass superimposed on it. toolbar button.
The dialog will not be displayed if the PDF is being published via the Arbortext PE server, or in batch mode.
The title of the dialog will change depending on the method your PTC Arbortext environment is using to generate PDF:

The following information is provided by the dialog box:
The marquee style progress bar advises that the publishing is continuing (this option requires Windows XP and will not be displayed in earlier versions of Windows)
The static text field also displays information about the progress of the publishing action, by stating the current position in the formatting process
The Cancel button will terminate the publishing process when clicked, providing a dialog in which you confirm that you wish to continue with the interruption. You may wish to use this option if, for example, the publishing process has entered an infinite loop.
When publishing is complete the dialog will automatically close.
