Working with Inline Applicability
Adding inline applicability settings to content allows you to target information to specific products, assemblies or configurations within a family.
For example, you may wish to specify that a wheel change process only applies to cars built with certain tires. You can then publish the same wheel change process to two outputs — one that applies to the cars that have the specified tires and one for all other cars, which excludes the specified data.
Arbortext Editor supports the authoring of inline applicability information for content and the publishing of content that conforms to the applicability settings.
Configuration options allow you to set up your environment for authoring inline applicability:
Specify the applicability syntax you want to use
For more information, see Confirm Applicability Syntax.
Enable the UI options for setting inline applicability in content
For more information, see Enable Applicability Interface.
Confirm the format in which you will define applicability expressions in the applicability interface
For more information, see Set Format of Applicability Expressions.
Specify whether to allow values that are not in the product’s defined option sets
For more information, see Restrict Expressions to Values only in Option Sets.
Activate highlighting of applicability items for easier identification in dialogs and Edit view
For more information, see Enable Highlighting of Inline Applicability Items.
Arbortext Editor’s inline applicability feature is available when you are connected to a repository via the PTC Server connection.
