Adding a Button to the Equation Editor Palette
1. In the Equation Editor window, outline the symbol using the marker.
2. With the cursor still in the Equation Editor window, press F3 or choose Commands > Keyboard Equivalents > Put Symbol on Palette from the menu bar.
3. If you want to save the button you added for the next editing session, choose File > Save Configuration.
This command writes a private apteqn.cf file to your application data directory. The application data directory is the directory where your operating system stores user-specific data. This is usually C:\Document and Settings\user_name\Application Data\PTC\Arbortext\Editor. Your private file will override the public file used at your site. To go back to the default Palette, remove the private file in your application data directory.
When you want to insert the new symbol into an equation, select it as you would any other Palette button — just click on the symbol.
