New List Configuration Dialog Box
The New List Configuration dialog box opens when you click Edit in the Advanced Preferences dialog box after selecting the newlist preference. Use this dialog box to control the document types included in the New Document dialog box.
Document types are organized by category. However, you can only add or remove individual document types from the Type list using this dialog box. If the document type you remove is the last one in a category, that category is removed from the dialog as well. If the document type you add is in a new category, that category is added to the bottom of the Category list before the Other category. If the document type you add does not have a category configured, it is added to the bottom of the list of document types in the Other category.
The actions you take in this dialog box update the list of document types and modify the setting of the newlist preference. If you want to remove many document types or categories of document types from the New Document dialog box, consider editing that preference directly. If you want to restore the default newlist setting, edit the preference and delete the current value of the preference completely.
Note that none of the actions you take in this dialog box are saved until you click OK. If you click Cancel, any changes you have made to the document types displayed are discarded.
The New List Configuration dialog box contains the following options:
Category — Displays the available categories for the document types.
Type — Displays the available document types for the selected Category.
Select a document type in this list to remove it.
Add — Opens the Select DTD/Schema dialog box.
Use the Select DTD/Schema dialog box to browse to the document type you want to add to the Type list. The New List Configuration dialog box refreshes after you add a new document type.
Remove — Removes the selected document type from the Type list.
Arbortext Editor displays a dialog box asking you to confirm removing the document type. The New List Configuration dialog box refreshes after you remove a document type.
*
Remove only removes the document type from the Type list. It does not delete the .dtd or .xsd file.
Edit — Opens the Edit Preference dialog box.
Use this dialog box to directly edit the newlist preference.
