Invalid Paste Structure Dialog Box
The Invalid Paste Structure dialog box opens when you try to paste content from another application that will result in invalid markup at the paste location. This dialog box shows you the markup that has been created from the copied content in the other application. The dialog box also enables you to save the markup as an XML file or edit the markup (and content) before pasting it into your document.
Note that only one Invalid Paste Structure dialog box can be open at a time. If the dialog box is open and you do another paste that results in invalid markup, then a context error is displayed on the status bar and the markup from the second paste is ignored.
The Invalid Paste Structure dialog box contains the following options:
Paste Results — Displays the markup that has been created from the copied content in the other application.
Paste Results enables you to see the markup that Arbortext Editor is attempting to paste into your document. You can modify the content and markup in Paste Results directly before pasting the content into your document. Right-click at a location in the markup to display a menu offering several options for modifying the markup. You can also drag-and-drop selected parts of the markup into your document.
If you want to paste the content from the other application as a different type of markup or just as plain text, close this dialog box and select Edit > Paste Special. You can then select how you want to paste the content in the Paste Special dialog box.
Save — Opens the Save As dialog box where you can save the markup displayed in the Paste Results as an XML file.
Close — Closes the dialog box and discards the content in the Paste Results.
Help — Displays this help topic.
Do not show this window when paste results are invalid — Prevents this dialog box from opening when you try to paste invalid markup.
When you select this option, future attempts to paste invalid markup result in a context error displayed on the status bar. Selecting this check box changes the value of the showpastewindow advanced preference. To show this window again, select Tools > Preferences, select the Advanced button on the Preferences dialog box, and change the value of the showpastewindow preference to on.
