Adding an Index to a Radical
1. Surround the entire radical by pressing F5 until it is surrounded.
2. Press TAB until the marker appears at the location of the index (in the crook of the root symbol).
*
You can also select the invisible index box representing the index by clicking the left mouse button on the place where it belongs—in the crook of the root symbol. To make the input box visible, press F4. (The key toggles, so just press it again to make it invisible again.) The F4 key works for any outlined input box.
3. Type k.
4. Press F5 until you return to the main equation level.
