Checking Objects into a PTC Server
When you are finished editing an object, you check in your latest changes. Once your edits are checked in, the edited revision of the object will be available to others. You can check in objects through the Arbortext EditorObject menu and through the Check In button and shortcut menu choice in the Browser.
For an object that is checked out and open in Arbortext Editor, check it into the PTC Server using the following procedure:
1. Place your cursor in the object that is checked out.
2. Choose Object > Check In Object.
The Check In dialog box is displayed. Besides checking in the object and any dependent objects, you can also use this dialog box to create a baseline for the objects.
You can also select the object in the Browser hierarchy and use the Check In button or shortcut menu choice to check it in.
3. Enter a check in comment if desired and click on OK.
The object and any modified dependant objects are checked into the PTC Server. The object remains open in Arbortext Editor, but is now read-only.
If you want to keep the object checked out after checking in your changes, select the Keep objects checked out option on the Check In dialog box before clicking OK. If you want to remove the objects you are checking in from your workspace, check Remove From Workspace. Depending on the setting of the RemoveObjectFromWorkspaceAfterCheckIn parameter in the userprefs.xml configuration file, this option might be enabled by default.
