Table Editing Shortcut Menu
Use the table editing shortcut menu for quick access to functions that can also be accessed from the menu bar.
The following options are available:
Table Editing Shortcut Menu Options
Option:
Description:
Undo
Reverses the last operation.
Repeat or Redo
Repeats the last action or restores the document to the state it was in prior to the last undo.
Cut
Cuts the object or text that is currently highlighted.
Copy
Copies the object or text that is highlighted so you can paste it elsewhere.
Paste
Pastes the text or object currently in the paste buffer after a cut or copy operation has been performed.
Paste Insert Before
Pastes the current table structure in the paste buffer before the cursor location.
Not visible if there is no content available for paste.
Paste Insert After
Pastes the current table structure in the paste buffer after the cursor location.
Not visible if there is no content available for paste.
Insert
Accesses a submenu containing the following options:
Row Above — inserts a new row above the cursor.
Row Below — inserts a new row below the cursor.
Header Row — for custom tables only, inserts a header row at the top of the table.
Column Left — inserts a new column to the left of the cursor.
Column Right — inserts a new column to the right of the cursor.
Rows and Columns — opens the Insert Rows and Columns dialog box.
Cells — inserts a cell and gives you the option to shift existing cells in the table to the left, right, up, or down.
Cell Left — for custom tables only, inserts a new cell to the left of the current cell.
Cell Right — for custom tables only, inserts a new cell to the right of the current cell.
Grid Above — inserts a grid above the current grid. (Only available for OASIS Exchange tables when Full Menus is enabled. Choose Tools > Preferences, and in the Window category, check Full Menus.)
Grid Below — inserts grid below the current grid. Only available for OASIS Exchange tables when Full Menus is enabled.
Delete
Accesses a submenu containing the following options:
Row — deletes the current row.
Column — deletes the current column. Not applicable to custom tables.
Cells — deletes a cell and gives you the option to shift existing cells in the table to the left, right, up, or down.
Grid — deletes the current grid. Only available for OASIS Exchange tables when Full Menus is enabled.
Table — deletes the current table.
Select
Accesses a submenu containing the following options:
Cell — selects the current cell.
Row — selects the current row.
Column — selects the current column. Not applicable to custom tables.
Grid — selects the current grid. Only available for OASIS Exchange tables when Full Menus is enabled.
Table — selects the current table.
Deselect all — clears the current selection.
Split
Accesses a submenu containing the following options:
Cells — Displays the Split Cells dialog box.
Grid — For OASIS Exchange tables, splits the current grid into two separate grids. The row containing the cursor becomes the first row in the second grid.
You are not permitted to split a table with multiple grids.
Table (by Row) — Splits the table into two tables with the second table beginning with the row of the current cell.
This option is not available if the current row is a header or footer row, or the first body row in the table.
Frame settings for the top row of the first table are copied to the top row of the second table.
Header or footer rows, table titles, or captions are not copied to the second table.
Table (by Column) — Splits the table into two tables with the second table beginning with the column of the current cell.
This option is not available if the current column is the first column in the table. It is also not available for custom tables.
Table titles or captions are not copied to the second table.
Modify Table Attributes
Accesses a submenu containing the following options:
Cell — modify attributes of the element representing the current cell.
Row — modify attributes of the element representing the current row.
Column — modify attributes of the element representing the current column. Not applicable to custom tables.
Grid — modify attributes of the element representing the current grid. Only available for OASIS Exchange tables when Full Menus is enabled.
Table — modify attributes of the element representing the current table.
Not visible when working outside a table.
Table Properties
Opens the Table Properties dialog box.
Modify Borders
Opens the Modify Borders dialog box.
Span Cells
Combines two or more selected cells. The contents of the cells are preserved and distributed across the newly spanned cell.
Not visible if the table model or the table selection does not apply.
Unspan Cells
Splits cells which have been spanned. Any content is placed in the upper left most cell.
Only visible if inside a spanned cell..
Insert Markup
Opens the Insert Markup dialog box.
Not visible when working with text documents.
Modify Attributes
Brings up the Modify Attributes dialog box allowing you to specify values for the attributes on the current element.
Not visible when working with text documents.
Quick Attribute
Brings up the Quick Attribute dialog box allowing you to modify an attribute for the current element.
Not visible when working with text documents.
Select Element Content
Selects the element content to the left of the cursor.
Not visible when working with text documents.
Select Element
Selects the element to the left of the cursor.
Not visible when working with text documents.
Collapse Element Content
Collapses the content of the element containing the cursor (or Expand Element Content if element content is already collapsed).
Not visible when working with text documents.
Modify Link Target
Modify the link target at the cursor location.
Only visible for valid link elements.
Delete Link Target
Delete the link target at the cursor location.
Only visible for valid link elements.
Modify Link
Modify the link at the cursor location.
Only visible for valid link elements.
Delete Link
Delete the link at the cursor location.
Only visible for valid link elements.
Link/Edit
A context sensitive menu determined by the object to the left of the cursor. Link/Edit options include:
Edit Entity in New Window — locks the entity and opens a second Arbortext Editor window containing the entity referenced at the cursor location. If the entity is stored in a document management system, this will trigger your local checkout protocol.
Only visible when the cursor is inside an entity.
Follow Link — moves to the target of a hyperlink.
Link to Next ID Use — moves the cursor to the next tag with the same ID or ID reference attribute value as the tag ID at the cursor location.
Only visible for valid link elements.
Edit Entity
Locks the file entity at the cursor location (or Edit Inclusion if an inclusion appears).
Only visible when the cursor is inside an entity or inclusion.
Go Back
Returns the cursor to the position from which a link operation occurred.
Only visible when a link has been followed.
