Modify Borders Dialog Box
The Modify Borders dialog box dialog box enables you to modify the borders for OASIS Exchange, HTML, custom, and Arbortext tables. You can modify the borders for the entire table, including the frame, a selected set of cells, or an individual cell. Note that some options might not be available, depending on the table model you are using and the cell or cells selected in the table.
The following options are available in the Modify Borders dialog box:
Presets — Enables you to select a preset border configuration.
You can choose from the following configurations:
None
Left + Right
Outside
All
Top + Bottom
Inside
Grid
This preset only affects the outside borders, while leaving the inside borders unchanged.
Custom
When this option is selected, you can change the values of the Style, Color, and Width options without affecting the borders displayed in the Preview control. You can then use the Preview controls to apply the custom border to the required area of the table.
Style — Enables you to set the style for a border.
Available styles are solid, double, dotted, and dashed lines. Changing the value of this option automatically applies the change to all of the borders displayed in the Preview control, unless the Custom option is selected.
*
Changes to this option and the next two options are saved as processing instructions, which are typically not compatible with other XML editors. Use the set tableuiextensions command to prevent format settings from being saved as processing instructions.
Color — Enables you to set the color for a border.
Available colors are displayed on the Color palette. Changing the value of this option automatically applies the change to all of the borders displayed in the Preview control, unless the Custom option is selected.
Width — Enables you to set the width for a border.
The width is a decimal number followed by one of the standard units of measurement. The minimum border width is .25 points and the maximum is 10 points. Changing the value of this option automatically applies the change to all of the borders displayed in the Preview control, unless the Custom option is selected.
Preview — Enables you to set custom border configurations.
The control in the Preview option displays the area of the table that you are modifying. It shows you the borders you are able to modify, based on any cells you have selected in the table and the setting of the Apply To option. You can either click on the buttons or on the borders of the table in the Preview control to turn a border on and off.
Note that the Preview control is not a representation of your entire table. Instead, it provides a general indication of the borders in the table you can modify.
Apply To — Determines whether the borders you modify apply to the entire table or just to the currently selected cell or cells.
If you have not selected any cells, then the cell containing the cursor is considered the selected cell. The following choices are available:
