Invalid Schema/DTD File Dialog Box
The Invalid Schema/DTD File dialog box appears when you attempt to use a document type that is not XML compliant. XML DTDs parsed with earlier versions of ArbortextEditor were not required to rigidly meet the rules for XML document types. These same document types may fail to parse with this release of ArbortextEditor. At this point, you can take one of the following actions:
• Click on
Cancel and correct the issues in your document type. Refer to
Document type migration issues for a detailed list of migration issues to consider when moving to Epic Editor 5.0.
• Click on
Cancel and choose > to
compile your document type and use your existing document type with the parsing rules used in previous versions of
ArbortextEditor.
• Open your document using one of the following choices:
◦ Browse for Schema/DTD — Locate and open with an alternate schema or DTD.
◦ Open in free-form mode without Schema/DTD — Opens the file in an unformatted tagged mode. Though no document type will be available to allow for context checking, completeness checking, and change validation, Arbortext Editor will parse the document to verify that it is well formed.
When the document is saved back to disk after any editing, it will be saved with its original document type declaration.
◦ Open as text — Opens the file in its ASCII form.
