Adding Document Types to the New Document Dialog Box
To allow easy access to your document types when creating new documents, you can add them to the New Document dialog box. The documents contained in the dialog box are controlled by the set newlist command. In Arbortext Editor, you can use the Advanced Preferences dialog box to modify the contents of that list.
To add document types to the New Document dialog box:
1. Invoke Arbortext Editor.
2. Choose Tools > Preferences.
The Preferences dialog box opens.
3. Click the Advanced button.
The Advanced Preferences dialog box opens.
4. Select newlist and click the Edit button.
The New List Configuration dialog box opens.
5. Click the Add button.
The Select DTD/Schema dialog box opens.
6. Navigate to where your document type is located, select the .dtd or .xsd file, and click the Open button.
The Select DTD/Schema dialog box closes and your document type appears in the New List Configuration dialog box.
By default, the base name of the file (without the .dtd or .xsd extension) will display in the Type list in the dialog box and the document type will be in the Other category in the Category list. If you want either a different name to display or for the document type to be in a different category, you can specify those names in the NewDialog section in the associated .dcf file. You can also specify template and sample files in the .dcf file.
7. Click OK in the New List Configuration dialog box, Close in the Advanced Preferences dialog box, and OK in the Preferences dialog box.
8. Choose File > New and make sure your document type is in the New Document dialog box.
Note that you can also use the set newlist command itself to control the document types available in the New Document dialog box
