Insert Markup Dialog Box
Use the Insert Markup dialog box to insert markup, processing instructions, text entities, file entities, marked sections, and data merge queries based on the Mode setting. The selection list is context-sensitive. It will also only list the markup that is valid at the cursor location. The dialog box can remain open while you insert markup at more than one location.
If no choices appear in the selection list, markup tags are not valid for insertion in the current context.
|
If Smart Insert is configured in the document type's .dcf file and turned on, (see > > , Use Smart Insert Feature check box) a different Insert Markup dialog box will display.
|
The Insert Markup dialog box contains the following options:
• Selection list — Displays the names of the valid markup (for the selected
Mode) that you can insert at the cursor location. If you have applied an
alias map to your document and have selected
Tags as the
Mode, this list will display aliases, rather than real names, for tags that have been assigned aliases.
The list is automatically updated when you move the cursor to another location or choose a different Mode. If the selected tag has been assigned a description, the description will display along the bottom of the dialog box.
• Mode — Determines the type of markup listed in the selection list. The list contains the following options:
◦ Tags — Lists
valid elements for the current cursor location for this document type. This is the default mode.
◦ Text Entities — Lists valid
text entities, which are a string of text or a phrase.
◦ File Entities — Lists
external files referenced in the current document.
◦ User Tags — Lists user-defined elements.
◦ Query — Lists the available
data merge queries. This mode is only available if the data merge feature is enabled.
