Used mainly, but not exclusively, in line references to force PTC ALD to recognize a non-printing code at the start of a line as a printable item, for the purposes of deciding where to activate the line reference. Line references normally take effect only in front of the first printable character on a line, i.e. after any codes, and would therefore usually override these codes.
