Text Mode can be activated by executing the tt macro or clicking the relevant button on the Modes toolbar (see ALD’sOperating Modes for details):

The name of this mode explains the nature of the information to be found there and worked on. From here it is possible to edit the text stream(s) in a document, plus its/their constituent tags.
