Content Delivery Network
Enabling and configuring a content delivery network (CDN) allows you to serve your content with high availability and high performance using a globally-distributed network of proxy servers. ThingWorx Software Content Management allows you to utilize a commercial CDN provider of your choosing to deploy packages to your assets (remote devices).
  1. Navigate to Administration  Configuration  Content Delivery Network.
  2. Select the Enable CDN checkbox.
  3. Enter the URL of your CDN provider in the URL Prefix field.
  4. Select a thing in ThingWorx as a cache repository.
  5. Click Save.

Once you have enabled CDN, the following options are available:
  • Use CDN by Default on the Create Package page
Specifies the default CDN behavior for this package. When this option is selected, the Use CDN option is selected by default on the Create One-Time Deployment page for this package.
When CDN is enabled, the Use CDN by Default option is automatically selected for each new package that is created. If you want a specific package not to use CDN, you can disable this option when creating that package.
  • Use CDN on the Create One-Time Deployment page
Specifies whether CDN will be used to deploy this package. The default setting of this option is controlled by the Use CDN by Default option.
For more information about configuring CDN with Amazon CloudFront and an Amazon S3 bucket, see Configuring CDN with Amazon CloudFront and Using a CloudFront Distribution with an Amazon S3 Bucket.
 Note
Note: The following beta artifacts are available to support CDN in ThingWorx Software Content Management deployments. These artifacts are available for early access, but are not yet supported:
  • Java SDK—Edge thing shapes with CDN support
  • ThingWorx Software Content Management edge thing shape
  • Amazon S3 extension
Asset Search Configuration
You can configure the asset search criteria and Assets table to include desired filters and columns in the search table.
 Note
You can also find asset search configuration settings in ThingWorx Asset Management. Asset search configuration settings are maintained independently in each utility, so any changes that you make here are applied only within ThingWorx Software Content Management.

The Fields Available table displays the mapped attributes of resource providers (with Role:Ownables tag) that are associated with ThingWorx Asset Management. For more information, see Resource Providers and Attribute Mapping.
  • If desired, enter a new label name using the Label field. By default, the label field contains localized tokens.
  • Select the checkbox in the Filter column for fields you want to be available to search filters.
  • Select the checkbox in the Table column for fields you want display as columns in the Assets table.
  • Specify the width and alignment of the columns using the Table Width and Table Align columns.
